Cyber Security in Europe and in the world has become a way to develop and secure democratic traditions and values. Accelerated social and technological progress is directly dependent on the state of cyber security, new technologies and quantum computing pushing society towards new directions of evolution. The increasing importance of cyber security has been enhanced by the international evolutions through the collateral effects of the Global Pandemics and the War in Ukraine. The Euro-Atlantic area is one of the most exposed in terms of cyber risks due to geopolitical conditions and the high degree of technology that attracts inherent threats from state and non-state cyber attackers. As a global industry, the maritime one is of overwhelming importance by its nature and by its ability to affect the world economy through strategic rebound effects. Maritime cybersecurity will have to address extremely difficult issues because the maritime industry functions as an area of convergence of critical infrastructures where the risk of contagion and adverse effects that are difficult to estimate is very high.
The conference is a unique platform that brings together leading experts and stakeholders from around the world to develop sound strategies and promote the development of effective cybersecurity policies and practices in the maritime industry. It will contribute to building a common cybersecurity agenda, foster greater awareness and understanding of the cybersecurity challenges facing the maritime industry, and promote collaboration and partnerships among stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity resilience.
